Blue Springs, MO - Passed away Monday, October 16, 2017. He was born on March 14, 1960 in Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, IN.
Doug was united in marriage to Jami Thorpe on March 14, 1981 in Muncie, IN, from this union 3 children were born. He spent the majority of his working career as a general manager for Pepsi-Cola before retiring in 2011. Doug enjoyed being in the outdoors, traveling, and golfing. After his retirement Doug worked at Royal Meadows Golf Course in Kansas City, MO.
Survivors include wife of 36 years, Jami Woolums of Blue Springs, MO; children, Doug Woolums (Jennifer) of Des Moines, IA, Amanda Woolums of Muskogee, OK, Chris Woolums of Blue Springs, MO; mother, Patricia Altic of Muncie, IN; siblings, James Woolums of Nashville, TN, Brian Woolums (Beth) Greencastle, IN, Lori Harsin (Morry) of Indianapolis, IN, Vic Altic of Muncie, IN; grandchildren, Nathan Borchard and Shea Woolums. He was preceded in death by his father, LeMoyne Altic.
The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2017 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St, Blue Springs, MO. Memorial service will follow starting at 4:00 p.m., at the chapel. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers. A Celebration of Doug's Life will be held in Muncie, IN, in the Spring of 2018.
