Sandra K. Deilkes
Muncie - Sandra K. Deilkes, 70, passed away on Saturday morning, December 16, 2017 at her residence.
She was born on June 16, 1947 in Muncie, the daughter of William H. and Betty J. (Yoder) VanMater and graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1967. On November 28, 1980 in Muncie, she married William D. Deilkes.
Sandra worked in the health care industry for 30 years; was a member of The Jar Church and was a long- time supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren; and was a major pet lover, especially Shelties and horses.
Surviving are her husband of 37 years, William D. Deilkes of Muncie; five children, Tammy Unger (husband, Matt) of Muncie, Mellissa Plank (husband, Mike) of Centerville, Chris Deilkes (wife, Morgan), Donnie Marker (wife, Deborah) and Staci Robinson, all of Muncie; sixteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; one sister, Theresa Chestnut of Merrillville; one brother, Lewis Bennington of Warsaw; and special friend, Paula Howser.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four grandchildren, Brittney Chipps, Megan and Matthew Marker and Randal Hudson.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
