Waunita Sue (Edminster) Smith, 78
Muncie - Waunita Sue (Edminster) Smith, 78, was ushered into her heavenly home unexpectedly on Saturday, October 7, 2017. She was born in Muncie Indiana on August 1, 1939 to Harold Edminster and Opal (Hoover) Edminster. She was one of three children born to that union. Waunita was a Muncie Central high school graduate and moved to Chicago, Illinois for several years before returning to Muncie, Indiana.
She is survived by her loving children: Belinda (Willie Ed) Nelson, Brenda (Robert-deceased) Wilson, Wanika Sanders and Jay'lin Barnes, all of Muncie, Indiana; Sister Peggy (Charles) Evans and five grandchildren: Jessica Anderson, Waunita Wesby, Jesse Earl Wesby, Robin Wilson (Charles) Suttice and LaTina Wilson. She had several great grandchildren and great-great children and a host of nieces and nephews; She had special friends William "Bill" & Patsy Harter and Dale & Connie Lovell. She also had two special sons Ronald "Damon" Walker and William Thomas Sr.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Eddie L. Smith, her parents, Harold G. Edminster an Opal J. Edminster; Brother, Harold G. Edminster Jr., grandson Josiah Anderson Sr. and longtime friend Lillie Nelson.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Christ Temple Global Ministries. The viewing will be from 10-11 and the funeral will be at 11.
Gholar & Gholar Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
