It seem like everyone growing up in Haw River during the 50's, had a nickname and yes "Muggs" was a person that loved athletics (football), Beach Music and the "Shag" dance.
I often saw him at Carolina Beach for their annual beach music festival. He was a type of person that always made you feel welcome, no matter where you were. A great first cousin who will be missed. Jim Stout

Prayers of love and comfort to you, Aunt Pam. We will miss Frank and his sense of humor so much. He always made our holiday celebrations fun. We love you! Candice & Haden

To know him was to love him. Frank was a kind, fun loving man. I have so many great memories of times spent with him, that I will cherish! He was a great Pawpaw to my girls. My heart goes out to Pam, and all of the Thornton family. It's hard to say goodbye, but it's easier when you know you'll see him again! Rest In Peace, My Favorite Father-in-law.
