MEBANE- Condolences are being shared with the family of Hiawatha Thompson, Jr., better known as "HT" as they prepare for services celebrating his life on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Sharpe Funeral Home, Inc. The family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to the services and all other times they will be at the residence. Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 1pm until 7pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the services in Mebane Memorial Gardens. Covid-19 precautions will be observed; therefore, masks and social distancing are required for all events.

Hiawatha Thompson, Jr. was born to Hiawatha Thompson, Sr. and Annie Jane Freeland Thompson. He was a 1951 graduate of Graham High School and subsequently enrolled into the United States Army serving during the Korean War.

He leaves loving memories to he devoted wife: D. Laura Alston Thompson; four children: Kenneth Thompson, Sandra Thompson, Norma Jean Weaver and Sharon Thorpe (Kevin); seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two siblings: Dr. John Thompson (Yvonne) and Sara Thompson Davis

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Billy O'Keith Thompson and siblings: Arthur June Thompson, Ruth Thompson Albright, Betty Thompson Rogers, Mattie Thompson Coombs and Alice Thompson Little.
