GRAHAM – Jay House, 71, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Guilford County on January 3, 1948 to the late Alvin John House, Sr. and Pauline Haney House and was the husband of 41 years to Linda Rich House who survives.
Jay was a licensed master electrician who retired in 2013 from Syngenta in Greensboro, where he had the reputation of working circles around the young guys. He always worked long hard hours to make sure that Lorrie and Josh had wonderful birthdays and Christmas's. Jay was an avid Lionel Train collector, he enjoyed making Brunswick stew and was a member of Lighthouse Bible Church. From an early age Jay met Life's challenges bravely. He prayed every day for his family, friends and church family. He will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.
Survivors other than his wife, Linda include his children, Lorrie (Kevin) Carter and Rev. Josh (Tracey) House; grandchildren, Megan (Austin) Walker, Trey Holt (fiancé, Hallie White), Adalynn, Ava Claire and Whitten House; great granddaughter, Allie Rae Walker; nephew, Rev. Ricky (Elizabeth) Lewis; great nieces, Sarah and Erica Lewis; numerous extended loving family, friends and church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Joan H. Lewis and a nephew, Randy Lewis.
The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Friday, December 6, 2019 at Lighthouse Bible Church by Rev. Ricky Lewis and Rev. Richard Silver, with the burial to follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home. You may sign the online register book at www.lowefuneralhome.com.
