Gertrude Elaine Hanes Mathews
Boyce - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Gertrude Elaine Hanes Mathews on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Luke LaFleur. Interment will follow immediately at Campbell Cemetery in Centerpoint, Louisiana under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 11:30 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home.
Elaine Mathews, 76, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Rapides Regional Medical Center from heart-related issues.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents Harrison and Josephine "Sis" Hanes.
Elaine was married for 57 years to her devoted husband, Joey. She loved her family and was known by many as "Maw". She was an exceptionally strong woman, who could do just about anything and proved us wrong many times. Elaine enjoyed traveling with her family. She hated to spend money but loved to shop. Elaine loved arts and crafts and liked to watch football no matter the team. Elaine retired from the Rapides Parish School Board where she was a school bus driver. She was a strong supporter of 4-H and the Rapides Parish Fair and she was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joseph "Joey" Mathews; her daughters, Lisa Collins (Pat), Ashley Meadows (Vince) and Theresa Mathews (fiancé Tim Ronsonet); her grandsons Graham Meadows (Lacey) and Colby Meadows and her great granddaughter Maggie Meadows; her sisters Kitty Brister, Margie Hart and Ginger Thiels and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Vince Meadows, Graham Meadows, Colby Meadows, Tim Ronsonet, Caleb Ducote and Dale Andries. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eugene "Tunk" Andries and Pat Collins
