Grateful thanks to Dorita, a distant cousin, for corresponding with me and sharing pieces of her work. My condolences to her family.
December-08-17
Dorita was such a generous lady with her time and talents. She helped EAC (Embroiderers Association of Canada) in many areas. She encouraged many people to enjoy the art of embroidery and will be missed by all.

I just heard of Dorita's passing and I extend my sincere condolences to her family and friends. I have so many remembrances of time spent with Dorita. I met her through the Embroiderers' Guild of Victoria and will always treasure the gift of her time that she gave so graciously to me. Dorita gave us all permission to change our work to make it more our own. To this day - when showing off a completed project - if you mention that it was someone's pattern, but you changed it a bit - this is affectionately known as a doing a "Dorita". You will well and truly be missed.

Our condolences to Dorita's family. She was my wonderful Brown Owl and my Mother knew her through the Embroiderer's Guild. Our thoughts are with you, June and Caroline Macey

I never got to meet Dorita but one of my treasures is one of her dolls. I think I bought it at an early Sooke Fine Arts Show. Such a talented woman. My condolences to you all.
