December-15-17
Dear Mrs. Doney and Family
It is with much sadness that I have just learned of the passing of your beloved Son Gerry.
I went to Saanichton Elementary School with Gerry. I, a country bumpkin from Saskatchewan and quite the Tom boy in grade six, Gerry & I got along great. I remember we had a grove of big trees at the end of our road in those years, I had a big yellow lab dog , Gerry and I would play in those trees pretending we were hunting. Aw, the years of innocents. Gerry was a cute kid !

Rest in Peace, my Dear little friend.

That's sad news, Gerry was a good guy, pretty easygoing all through school from what I remember...
Rest In Peace Gerry

I knew Gerry well. We were all country bumpkins from Brentwood, Saanichton, Beaver Lake and Prospect Lake. Gerry was an amazing guy. Funny, humble and a total team player in all sports. Nobody pulled a ball out of a scrum and fired a perfect, vertical spin pass to the line out. And off we went. When we all moved up to Claremont, it was a culture shock for many of us. Not so for Gerry. He was such a gifted athlete that he, as well as a few others, created a mystique about the bumpkins coming to that school from the peninsula. Mount Newton was where we all hooked up. I so miss Gerry and all of his family and friends.❤
