So saddened to learn of Joanne's passing. Our families were closely connected over many years in Ottawa through many social events, and my friendship with colleague Rod. Both are greatly missed.

My condolences to Steve and Colleen. I have many fond memories of Joanne in the house off Meadowlands in Nepean.

I was a piano student of Joanne for many years. She was an amazing teacher and I think of her often. My condolences to the family.

So many years have passed, but not my memory of a creative, talented teacher and colleague. I'm talking 1980's and Brooklane Public School in Ottawa, formerly the City of Nepean. One year we enjoyed the presence of a teacher on exchange from New Zealand and instituted a year long school-wide NZ theme. It culminated in an amazing concert attended by parents, local politicians and the High Commissioner of New Zealand. How well I remember the rehearsals with Joanne's energy and flair and the success of the evening. Our students were justly proud and we were proud of them. It was an amazing showcase. Joanne was central to it and I hope that over the years she might have called it to mind too.

Both of us moved from Brooklane and we lost track. I do remember her connection to Vancouver Island, I'm not sure I knew of her connection to Wisconsin. It seems strange to think I visited Madison for the first time just last month. The twists and turns our lives take!

My condolences to all of Joanne's loved ones. I am blessed to have known her.
