What a surprise to move to Sooke Basin and have Joe and Joan show up for coffee out of the bushes like some remote welcomewagon bearing freshly baked shortbread! We quickly found them both to be an inspiration and dearly loved neighbours. Just a week before he passed there was Joe at the door with a big smile- we talked of well water ,wood chopping, the coming winter...and the incredible sunsets that had been lighting up the basin. Forever in our hearts we feel truly gifted to have had the great pleasure of getting to know Joe.
