HIRT, Jane (nee Westendorp) It is with great sadness that we announce that we suddenly lost our much loved daughter Jane Hirt Westendorp. Born December 31, 1957, Jane died on November 17, 2017. Married to Jim Hirt, Jane was our only daughter and had three brothers whom she handled with ease. Jane is survived by her parents Gerit and Ineke Westendorp and brothers Jerry (Lee, children Jeremy and Taylor from Sidney, BC), Glenn (Angela, children Serena and Vivian from Comox, BC). Jane also had a sister-in-law and brother-in-law in Altoona, USA and aunts, uncles, and cousins in Holland. Jane was predeceased by her brother Roger Westendorp. Jane worked for Pembina pipeline in Calgary as a senior production accountant. Jane loved her job; she also loved her garden and her two dogs. Jim and Jane had a happy life together. We shall all miss her smile and humour. Jane gave us so many memories and she will be in our hearts forever

Well Jane, its been 9 long months without you and I miss you still. Now your beloved husband Jim has joined you in the heavens. I hope you are in a good place and taking care of all the puppies up there somewhere. It has been a heartbreaking year losing you and now Jim. Love you to the moon and back. Delores

I just learned of Jane's passing today and am truly heartbroken. After working with Jane at Ranchmen's Resources many years ago - I caught up with Jane again these past few years with both of us working at EAP. We had so many great times at Ranchmen's - Friday lunches at Honey's were the best! Jane is surely the bubbliest, dog loving angel in the heavens! Jim - my heartfelt condolences to you and Jane's family.

So sorry to learn of Jane's passing. She was always a "bright light" every day. I enjoyed our interfacing at work, both within Talisman and at Pembina, always more than willing to assist with a request.

Gerry and Ineke and family,
I am Vito and Olive Stassi's daughter. You worked with Dad many years ago when you lived in Calgary. I remember babysitting Jane and her brothers while you both celebrated New Year's Eve at Mom and Dad's home. We were all so sad when you lost Roger and I am so sorry to hear now of your daughter Jane passing away. I am sure she will be missed by many. I know Mom and Dad would want to send their condolences to you and Janes' family if they were here today. I am so very sorry to hear this news as well. May Jane Rest In Peace.

Jim, Mr. & Mrs. Westendorp and family,
I am overcome with shock and sadness at your devastating loss. My deepest sympathy to all of you. Jane was truly one of the happiest people I have ever had the pleasure to know. She joyfully greeted everyone with a smile on her face and that winsome chuckle. During our school days, or later as roommates and dear friends, Jane's sunny disposition always brightened the day. Whether we were skipping rocks in the river (while Jim unsuccessfully fished downstream), sitting around a campfire, or simply sharing a bottle of Black Tower, being in her company was truly uplifting. I was so pleased to have reconnected with Jane in recent years. We worked in the same building and would run into each other frequently (usually while buying lottery tickets) and would stop to chat and catch up, keeping tabs on each other's Vegas excursions. Although we haven't spent a lot of time together recently, I felt a sense of comfort knowing my old friend was near. Thoughts of her will forever warm my heart. She will be deeply missed.
