Dear Lyn, Jeffry and Samantha,
I am so, so sorry to hear that Randy has died, and only relieved that he suffers no more. Our friendship goes back almost 50 years to those crazy days in Saint-Jean-aur-Richelieu where we first got to rollick together over cards, fishing, parties at the Officer's Mess. Then again we shared Orleans in the Ottawa years and I got to know Samantha and Jeff as teens. Yes indeed, you had so many marvelous years together traveling, enjoying friends and family. I hope you can see through the dark times to treasure those wonderful years. We are not all privileged to share that many wonderful years together. As George said before passing No man can be living forever, And we must be satisfied. J.M.Synge. With love,
Sheila

We are so very sorry to learn of Randy's passing after such a valiant fight. Randy was a bright light whose attitude and courage were an example for us all. Big hugs to you Lyn and family.

My condolences Lyn to you and your family. I was a cadet at Royal Roads when Randy was teaching French at the College and then had the pleasure of being at Queen's Law at the same time as Randy. I remember his visit to Calgary with Bill Reid and their effort to get me to re-join the Navy to work in the JAG staff. I spoke to Randy last summer and hoped to get together with him -sadly, an opportunity missed. Randy was a gentleman and always set an example to be followed by those who came behind him. Sincerely,

Dear Lyn and family

It was a privilege to know and befriend Randy and Lyn. I spent countless days and many parts of late nights playing backgammon, crib and other games of chance with Randy through the years but most of our hours together were on the squash court beating away at each other. Mary and I send our deepest thoughts and condolences to Lyn, Samantha and Jeffrey. RIP ole buddy!

Lyn: My sincerest condolences - thinking of you.

Thirty years after I first met Randy as a Flight Mate at Royal Roads, I was defence counsel in a Court Martial he was trying at Cold Lake. He brought in a common sense decision in an odd case.

Lyn, thank you so much for allowing us to share in Randy's Celebration of Life. It was a wonderful tribute and farewell. Randy's leadership, his sage advice, and above all his infectious smile and comradeship, will truly be missed by all of us in the Vancouver Island Ex-Cadet Club.

Randy and I were roommates in first year at Royal Roads. His eternally buoyant attitude made the grim days substantially less so. We also crossed at Queens in the 1970s. It is discomforting to know that Randy will no longer be holding court on the West Coast. My sincere condolences to Lyn and family!

We were so sorry to hear the devastating news about Randy.
We have such fond memories of our good times together in St. Jean, and later in Borden. Our deepest condolences, Lyn, to you and the family. Cathy & Yvon
