Cori-Lee: Very sad to hear of Sam's passing. I considered Sam a friend and mentor when we worked at BC Systems; I learned a lot from Sam as my cycling skills improved. Sam was one of the good guys - he will be missed.

Dear Cori-Lee,
My thoughts are with you and family. I only met Sam relatively recently when I started with the umpiring community four years ago. It was immediately apparent that Sam was a true leader who quietly ensured we were learning what we needed to strive towards effective umpiring. Others have used the word Mentor' and that perfectly fitted Sam. The hosting of the umpires at your home during Brentwood was very generous of you and meant we got to know you too, which was an absolute bonus. Sam had such an interesting background and life that there was always something to listen to, discuss and learn. Sam is much missed. Our condolences on your loss.

Cori-Lee, it is with deep sadness to have heard of Sam's passing. My sincerest sympathies and condolences to you, your family, and all of Sam's dearest friends that he has left behind.

I fondly remember Sam as a friend and mentor. His influence will live on in those of us who were fortunate to know him.

On behalf of Rowing Canada Aviron, our sincerest condolences. Sam's involvement in the world of rowing as an Umpire and volunteer in other capacities allowed many of us to have the pleasure of working with him. His kind way encouraged learning and his zest for knowledge made him an engaging conversationalist. On a personal note, Cori-Lee, I was always struck by the warmth in his voice when ever he spoke of you (which was very often.). My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Cori-Lee, I was surprised and saddened to learn of Sam's recent health challenge and passing. Sam was one of the finest people I have known socially and a pleasure to work with when our paths occasionally passed professionally. I remember having some serious fun figuring out with him how to use an early day's encryption tool (a brutish and mostly undocumented piece of software using the now almost ubiquitous public key infrastructure or PKI model).

Sam was also a valued member of our pub group (officially and obtusely called the Data Management Committee) when we assembled at the Vic West office board room (a code name for Spinnaker's). We will miss him a lot.

I know he found much happiness in his time building a new life with you. Our thoughts are with you.

Cori-Lee, my sincere condolences to you and all of Sam's family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with Sam at Island Health - He in IT and me in Privacy. He was truly inspirational and always willing to help guide me. I am privileged to have had someone so amazing in my world. He will be missed by everyone. May his love give you comfort during this difficult time.

Dear Cori-Lee, We are very sorry to hear about Sam. Although we only met him a few times he seemed like a very genuine, happy fellow. It must be very sad for you to loose such a loving partner and our thoughts are with you at this time.
Sincerely,
Bart & Laura Griffin

Dear Cori-Lee,
I remember when you met Sam, and how you glowed with burgeoning joy and happiness thanks to his tender, devoted love for you. I can't tell you how deeply sad and sorry we all are to hear of his premature passing. I think of you fondly and often and with sincere sympathy. Much love, Sue, Mike and family

Cori-Lee. my condolences to you and all of Sam's family. Although we only worked together for just over year, I have known Sam since 1990 and always felt privileged to be one of his colleagues and a member of his audit-buddies group. His positive outlook was always inspiring and he will be greatly missed. My prayers for you and your family.
