Louis Paul Zambella, 86, of Norristown PA passed away peacefully on Monday, January 18, 2021, with his family by his side. Louis was the beloved husband of 67 years to Antoinette (DelPizzo) and son of the late Frank and the late Theresa (Santillo) Zambella. Lou was born in Norristown on June 10, 1934. Lou graduated in 1952 from Norristown HS where he met his wife, Antoinette. He had a wonderful sense of humor, quick wit and was never without a smile on his face. He served in the Army for 2 years and was stationed in Columbia, North Carolina. After Lou retired from Kaiser Aluminum Factories, he worked for Zummo Hardware, and National Label. Lou was an avid bowler and known as “Mr. Z” by everyone at Facenda Whitaker. He was a faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi church in Norristown for 56 years, where he could be found every Sunday in the very first pew. Lou enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and creating woodworking projects in his shop. In the spring and summer most of his time was spent in his incredible vegetable garden which he took great pride in. His family and friends will miss him dearly and cherish all the wonderful memories he gave them. Surviving are 2 daughters: Joan (Steve) Mattiola & Janet (Aaron) Zambella-Lake; 4 grandsons: Drew, Timothy, Brandon & Matthew; 1 brother: Gaetano (Pat) Zambella. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews; especially Steve & Aimee DelPizzo. Due to the current pandemic, funeral services and burial will be private. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lou's honor to: The Alzheimer’s Association: 399 Market Street, #250, Philadelphia, Pa 19106. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Brandywine Senior Suites for the wonderful care given to Lou for the past 2 years. Special thanks to Kindred Hospice for their care for Lou in the last few weeks of his life.
