Lawrence J. Fangmann
Wichita Falls - Lawrence J. Fangmann, 84, of Wichita Falls, passed away, January 5, 2021.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace at 10:00 A.M. Thursday January 14, 2021. Inurnment with military honors will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery following the service.
Larry was born at 3:05 a.m., November 12, 1936, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Mildred and Joseph Fangmann. He attended St. Dominic's Parochial School, Mt. St. Joseph High School and St. Charles College Seminary. He was a graduate of Culver-Stockton College, Canton, Missouri, and was a life Boy Scout.
Larry served his country proudly in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Can Ran Bay, So. Viet Nam. He also served overseas tours in Turkey, Germany, Alaska and the Philippines, as well as stateside tours in Kansas, Texas, and Michigan where he held various administrative positions. His last was Administrative Superintendent, DCS/Plans, Hq, U.S. Air Forces, Europe, Ramstein, Germany, retiring with 22 and one half years of service. Subsequent to his military service, Larry worked for a local oil producing company, a real estate company and lastly as Quality Assurance Evaluator, Defense Commissary Agency.
Larry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 29 years, Barbara Fangmann; and a sister Marguerite Plumer. He is survived by his four sons: John, Steven, Raymond, Douglas and families; and their six grandchildren, Madeline, Grace, Adam, Shawn, Patrick and Connor Fangmann. He is also survived by his step-daughter Cori Davis, and her children Tyler, Shelby, and Carly Davis; his sisters Elaine Weger and husband Richard; and Joan Mullen and husband Thomas.
