Brother Haankins was a friend and colleague in miniistry. He ministered in the West Texas District for many years. He was a faithful pastor and District Youth Director. After moving to the North Texas District where he served as pastor and sectional pressbyter He never forgot the West Texas District and attended District functions to enjoy fellowship and offer encouragement. He was a true soldier of the cross. He will be missed. May God bless his wife and family with the comfort of Jesus.

Pastor Hankins deserves much of the credit for the positive direction of my life. My father was one of many young ministers he mentored over the years, and his willingness to share both his successes and his mistakes led my dad to make Mom and I the people he pastored first and most, and my childhood was much the better for it. It was also Pastor Hankins, based I'm told on his experiences raising Steve, who suggested to my folks that they get me evaluated for ADD. I'm not sure where I'd be today if I hadn't gotten the help I needed as a youngster. Above all that, he was a man of integrity who loved God's Word and was never afraid to call sin sin. His life backed up the sermons he preached. I am very grateful for his influence on my life, and even more grateful that I had the chance to thank him in person a few years ago. He will be missed, but I know I will see him again. Sister Hankins and family, know we love you and are praying for you!

Words can't describe the Love that my wife and I have for Brother and Sister Hankins. As a young man I first met "The Hankins" in the early 1950's. I entered the USAF when the Korean war began. After basic training I was assigned to A&E School at Shepherd AFB in Wichita Falls. Brother and Sister Hankins were pastors at a church nearby in Holliday Texas. As a young Airman they took me under their wing, and for the last 70 years or so, we have remained friends The last few years we have been more than "especially blessed", with recent close friendship and fellowship.
Our love and prayers to Sister Hankins, and family.
