Blanche "Babe" Morris
94, of Uhrichsville, passed away at Park Village Assisted Living in Dover on February 21, 2021. Born February 17, 1927 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Alexander Garfield and Bertha Odessa Rachel (Morris) Galbraith. A 1945 graduate of Dennison High School, Babe had been a devoted mother, wife, grandmother and homemaker. She worked for 11 years as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell and as an insurance clerk at Twin City Hospital for 21 years. Babe was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville and often volunteered at the Twin City Christian Service Center Food Pantry. Babe loved to sew, crochet, knit, golf, and she belonged to several card clubs.
On April 9, 1949, Babe married Jack Leland Morris with whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage before his passing on May 29, 2005. They are survived by 3 daughters, Jennifer (John) Thomas, Georgie (Alan) Johns, and Dawn Marie Morris-Romie; son, Todd Morris; grandchildren, Shayne, Shanda, Shawna, Jackson, Hannah, Sean, Christopher, and Mandy; great-grandchildren, Joey, Cambri, Mikehla, Brooklyn, Cole, and Seth; beloved nephew, Donald (Joyce) Galbraith II; and brother-in-law, Dan (Glenda) Morris. In addition to her parents and husband, Babe was preceded in death by her brothers, Glenn (Regina), Ralph (Irene), Donald (Margaret), Frank (Isabelle), Robert (Alice), and James (Anne) Galbraith; and sister, Betty Galbraith.
A private, family graveside service, officiated by Pastor Tom Gruver, will be held in Uhrichsville's Union Cemetery where she will be interred beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Twin City Christian Service Center Food Pantry, 109 N. Water St., Uhrichsville, OH 44683.
