Banahan, Audrey C. SELKIRK Audrey C. Banahan, 86, passed away on August 1, 2017, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Audrey was born, January 14, 1931, in Pittsfield, Mass., daughter of the late Harold and Emma (Laramee) Elser. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School, Dalton, Mass. and St. Margaret's School of Nursing, Albany. Audrey retired in 1991 after many years of private child care. Audrey was predeceased by her husband, William P. Banahan Jr. in 1999; and her brother, Donn Elser.Survivors include her two sons, William H. Banahan and Tim (Susan) Banahan both of Selkirk; grandchildren, T.J. (Shannon) Banahan, Amy and Juliann Banahan and Cortney (John) Maderic; great-grandchildren, Mason Banahan, Hunter, Grayson and Karson Maderic; sister, Elizabeth (Stan) Noll of Enfield, Conn.; sister-in-law, Anne (Vic) Weidman; brother-in-law, Jim (Bonnie) Banahan of Selkirk; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the staff at St. Peter's Hospital for all the care they gave Audrey in her final days. They would also like to express their most heartfelt thanks to Audrey's caregivers, Barbara McDermott and Sheri Medina for being so compassionate and competent during her time of need. A graveside service was held privately for the family at Jerusalem Cemetery, Feura Bush. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Audrey may make a memorial donation to the Jerusalem Reformed Church, P.O. Box 70, Rte. 32, Feura Bush, NY 12067 or to The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
