Palmer, Charles O. NEW BALTIMORE Charles O. Palmer, 70, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 after a brief illness. Charles was the son of the late Charles and Marge Palmer. He was a veteran of the Navy Seabees serving during the Vietnam War. Charles was a member of the Teamsters and retired from Callanan Industries after many years of service. He was a member of the Albany W. F. Wiggand VFW Post 8444 Men's Auxiliary, a member of the Long Lake American Legion Post 0650, and a member of the Veterans of Lansingburgh. Charles had been a long time member of the New Baltimore Cornell Hook and Ladder Co. Charles was a loving husband and a wonderful dad and will be missed by all his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sharon G. Palmer of New Baltimore; daughters, Diana L. (Steven) Oldenburg and Linda L. Carson (Mark); and five grandchildren, Joshua, David, Grace, Robert and Charles. Charles was predeceased by his brother, Lee Palmer. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Saturday, December 10 from 10 to 1 p.m. A graveside service will be held following at 1:30 in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore. Contributions in memory of Charles may be made to the Ravena Rescue Squad, PO Box 144, Ravena, NY 12143.
