Doherty, Clara Agnes WEST COXSACKIE Clara passed away at St. Peter's Hospice Inn surrounded by her loving family on June 21, 2015. Clara was born in Forked River, N.J. on June 24, 1921. She was married to the late Edward A. Doherty for 47 years. Clara was a retired R.N. and loved sewing, knitting and gardening. She was an active member of St. Patrick's Church in Ravena for over 55 years serving as president of the Rosary Altar Society and volunteering in the thrift shop. Clara is survived by her children, Paul and Ginny Doherty of Nassau, Thomas and Gail Doherty of Palentine Bridge, Maureen and Victor Osborne of Mechanicville, Jean and Rusty Bloom of Freehold, and Patrick and Susan Doherty of Feura Bush. She was proud of her grandchildren, Amy, Lisa, Brian, Deanna, Jennifer, Erin, Jonathan, David, Sandra, Chad, Becky, Ryan, Joseph and Daniel. She also had several great-grandchildren. Clara was predeceased by her son, Edward S. Doherty and grandson, Jason Doherty. Clara was a resident of Riverside Nursing Home in Castleton where she was loved, respected and received the utmost of personal and professional care. Friends and family may pay respects at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena, on Wednesday, June 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, at St. Patrick's Church, 21 Main St., Ravena. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
