Nancy, David, and family,
I will always cherish the time we lived near you in Selkirk. Our families were so close... we babysat Little David, hung out with you and Big David, and just enjoyed the neighborhood. It was wonderful to visit you in the Keys in 2016. Big David was kind and funny and had the best smile. He will be missed but he will always be in our hearts.
You and the family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love, Jennifer McKiernan Thayer and family

I knew David when he was 15 years old. I became a hack. The first night I worked with Dave there was no medallion so I hit the streets with a Kelly's cars no medallions cars. So I hit the streets and went to the collages to hack. When I came in at 5:00 AM with a book of over $400.00 Dave had given me 2 calls all night. I pickup the rest on the street. I will keep your text in my phone from a few years back tell me I was your Favorite cabbie because I never complained to you and I pickup everything you asked me to. Dave,s eyes were bigger that 1/2 dollars. He as Mike if he could give a lease. Of course Mike said yes. I was Dave's top booker every night. Thank you Dave for all the great months. You were the greatest dispatcher in the City of Albany. You knew your stuff. RIP I will find you in heaven and we can laugh and enjoy a coffee. Fly High God Speed Dave.

To the Coffey family God bless each of you .

Nancy and family, I was so sorry to hear about Dave's passing...the sadness I feel right now is overwhelming! Dave not only worked for me as a dispatcher at Duffys taxi for years but I also knew him since I was a young girl. He was the kindest, sweetest man and he was the best dispatcher that the City of Albany had ever seen and ever will see. I'm so glad he got to spend his last years in the Keys...he loved the warmth and sunshine and of course he loved the fishing. I will miss you Dave Coffey...you were one of the good ones! God bless and RIP.
