Baldwin, Helga NEW BALTIMORE Helga Engelbrecht Baldwin, 83, born in Munich, Germany, passed away November 22, 2018, in Meriden, Conn. Helga married the late William Luke Baldwin on May 18, 1957, and they had been together 48 years when he passed away in 2005. She immigrated to the United States in 1958 and earned her citizenship in 1962. Helga was a long-time faithful member of the New Baltimore Reformed Church, past member of the Cornell Hook and Ladder Ladies Auxiliary and the Martinsville Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Garden Club and loved gardening and baking. Helga attended college at Somerset Community College studying computer programming and mathematics. She lived in New Jersey for 35 years before moving back to New Baltimore. Survivors include her three children, Karl (Patricia) Baldwin, Sylvia (Paul) Hollman and Heidi (Mark) Carpenter; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan), Toby, Leah, Noah and Luke; and one great-grandchild, Bella. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, November 26, at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. The family would like you to consider in lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Helga to the New Baltimore Reformed Church, P.O.
