Eichner, Joseph J. Jr. RAVENA Joseph J. Eichner Jr., 70, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012. Joe was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was employed by the former NY Central and Penn Central Railroads and in 2002 he retired from CSX with an accident free career. Joe was a life member of the Ravena VFW Post 9594 and a member of the New Baltimore American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Griffith Eichner; daughter, Jennifer (Mathew) McNerney; grandchildren, Lillianna and Benjamin McNerney; and sister-in-law, Barbara Brisee. Joe was predeceased by family members, Joseph and Esther Eichner Sr., Reginald and Alta Griffith, Roy and Martha Warner, Sonny (Clarence) Brisee, Willis Burhans and aunts, Ann and Eleanor. Many friends and coworkers also were touched by him most in secret. Joe did not allow his left hand to know what his right hand was doing. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Saturday, May 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 14 at King's Chapel, 440 Rte. 9W, Glenmont. Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Capital City Rescue Mission, PO Box 1999, Albany, NY 12201-1999.
