Cross, Martin J. Jr. SELKIRK Martin J. Cross Jr., 87, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015. Martin was born in Cedar Hill and lived in Selkirk on the family farm all his life. He was the son of the late Martin Sr. and Elizabeth Cross. Martin worked for the Town of Bethlehem Highway Department for 39 years, 26 years as superintendent. He helped organize the Albany County Highway Superintendent's Association, was a member of and served as president of the New York State Highway Superintendents Association. He was a member of the Bethlehem Grange and after retirement enjoyed playing golf. Martin was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn Cross. Survivors include his sons, Martin J. III of Selkirk, Nicholas of Selkirk, James (Karen) of Coeymans Hollow and Ronald (Cheryl) of Selkirk; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Martin was also predeceased by his brother, John and daughters, Nancy Cross and Marjory Cross. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m.
