Peck, Ronald S. NEW BALTIMORE Ronald Sydney Peck passed away on November 6, 2016, one month after his 73rd Birthday. Ronnie entered the Navy after high school. From 1961-1964, he served as an aviation electronics technician at sea and in the Philippines. He began a lifelong career at Lafarge Cement Plant (Blue Circle Cement), while completing his degree in chemistry from S.U.N.Y. In 2003 he retired as chief chemist. His career afforded him worldwide travel but he enjoyed being at home the most. Ronnie enjoyed stints in recreational boating and camping as well as vegetable gardening, the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He was an exceptional cook. Above all, he loved his family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Donald and Marion Peck of Ravena. He is survived by his daughters, Alicia Peck of Scotia and Kim Yund (John) of Guilderland; his siblings, Donna Peck of Hannacroix, Robert Peck of Palm Coast, Fla., James Peck (Beth) of Halfmoon and Jeff Peck (Joanne) of East Greenbush as well as several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his granddaughters, Sydney, Taylor and Michaela Yund. All are invited to call on Monday, November 14, at the Babcock Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. followed by a service at 7 p.m. The burial will be attended privately by the family.
