Stefanik, Stanley S. SELKIRK Stanley S. Stefanik, 74, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at home with his loving family by his side. Stanley was born September 4, 1937 in Albany. He was a Captain with the Albany Fire Department where he served with great pride and dedication for 31 years. He also served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a Charter member of Albany Permanent Professional Firefighters Association Local 2007, American Legion Post 1520, Knights of Columbus 3424 and the Albany Firefighters Retirees Association. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jacqueline (Lyon) Stefanik; daughters, Robin Stefanik of Coarsegold, Calif. and Bonnie McNeilly of Coeymans, N.Y.; sister, Carol Hickey; brothers, John, James (Linda), Richard (Sharon), Donald (Rose), William (Kim) and Kenneth (Mel) Stefanik; grandchildren, Stephen (Amanda) McNeilly, Amy McNeilly, Kylie McNeilly and Luke Skinner; great-grandchildren, Zoee, Quinn, Addison and Makenzie McNeilly, Koby Miesowicz and Paytyn Berenger, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the service starting at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Albany Fire Department Credit Union, Widows & Orphans Fund, 532 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12206 would be appreciated.
