Dr. Acree was a wonderful man, our long time vet and my mother's neighbor. He had a great sense of humor and raised a lovely family. He will be missed. Thinking of this family and hoping they know how much we appreciated him.

Your dad was such a kind and caring man. He was a wonderful vet as well. As an adult and parent I often wonder how Dr. and Mrs. Acree felt about kids taking a shortcut through their yard from Montgomery Place to Shadowlawn and beyond. We would run up Mrs. Rientz's driveway and over that bent over piece of fencing into the Acree's yard. Looking back, they must not have minded our intrusions. Certainly a man who could fence cows could have fenced his young neighbors out of his yard. He knew we needed to learn how to play with each other so we turned into good adults. Thanks for not fixing the fence and being such a great example to those who knew you.

Sending my love and prayers to all of the Acrees. To the Harrells, the Acrees have always been like family. We cherish our memories of many good times spent together. In more recent years, I enjoyed visiting with your dad at The Windsor. I'm glad he and my mom were able to see one another and reminisce about the good old days. Your dad was a great man; may you celebrate his life as you mourn his passing. He will surely be missed, but I'm happy knowing he and his beloved Emily are together again. I can still hear both of their distinctive, hearty laughs and it makes me smile. ❤
