Raymond Arthur Burlen, Jr.
"Papa Ray, Uncle Ray, Grandpa Ray"
Whatever you called him you knew you were in good hands, he would give you the shirt off his back; it might be a weld jacket or an Hawaiian shirt. He was always a hard worker, but laughter the whole way, his laughter was contagious. He was always positive and an "I can" attitude was a must with him.
His Passion for God was his lifelong goal. His "671" brotherhood was his life, for which he spent many years as a pipefitter/welder. Anyone that knew him that was in the car or boat with him was in for an adventure, many times to return hours or even days later.
We could write for days about Raymond. He is going to be deeply missed and thought about for years to come. His family would like you to keep him in your prayers as he takes his next steps in life.
There will always be wind in your sails to sail in the waters you love so much.
Raymond is survived by his sons, Jeff (Lori) Burlen, Doug (Daphne) Burlen, and David Mack; daughters, Shellie Mack and Bridget Pendley; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, and Mary-Ann Burlen, Jacob, Gartee, and Selina Mack, and Cody and Monica Butler; siblings, John (Gayle) Burlen, Mary (Dave) Tucker, Julie Stone, and Jimmy (Marcia) Burlen; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond A. and Irene (McFarland) Burlen, Sr.
A memorial will be held from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at VFW Post 1944, 1944 Erie Rd., Erie, MI 48133.

Annie, the Burlen Family, I was so sorry to hear of Ray's passing I wish I could be there to help you Celebrate the Life of Ray. He was a great friend and was one to always be there for you. Ray enjoyed life to the fullest and could tell you of the many adventures of his life. He will definitely not be forgotten, and put a smile on your face when you think of one of your memories of Ray. God Bless.
