JoAnn Trefelner, 83, of Gilpin Township, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at Quality Life Services, Apollo. JoAnn was a longtime resident of Freeport. JoAnn was born May 25, 1935, in Natrona Heights, the daughter of the late Russell and Helen Drane. She was the widow of John Karl Trefelner, who passed in 1995. JoAnn had worked for many years at Carson Castings Co., South Buffalo Township. She was a member of the Freeport VFW. She enjoyed her social life with family and friends. JoAnn enjoyed singing karaoke and doing her crossword puzzles. JoAnn is survived by her three sons, Kevin Trefelner and Holly Kiem, of Gilpin Township, Michael and Julie Trefelner, of South Buffalo Township, and John L. Trefelner and Laura Jones Trefelner, of Gilpin Township; and her son-in-law, Vernon J. Klingensmith Sr., of Allegheny Township. She is also survived by grandchildren, Vernon J. Klingensmith Jr., Ashley Klingensmith and Zack Shannon, Johua Hess, Austin and Cheyanne Trefelner, and Clayton Chapman; three great-grandchildren, Phoenix Klingensmith, and Gavin and Roczen Shannon. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Klingensmith; and an infant daughter. She was also preceded by her three sisters and a brother.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home following the visitation at 7 p.m. Tuesday. A family burial service will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Freeport.
