Mary Jean Soggie

Puyallup, Washington - Mary Jean Soggie, 89, a longtime resident of Puyallup, WA, passed away January 4, 2021 in Gresham, OR. She was born July 20, 1931 in Crosby, MN to Kurt and Josephine Haselhurst. She married Edward Soggie in December of 1983. Ed preceded her in death in October of 1990. Mary Jean and Ed enjoyed living in Puyallup and camping throughout the state.
Mary Jean worked as an executive secretary in Minnesota, California, and finally in Tacoma, Washington. She worked for many years at the Puyallup County Fair and enjoyed line dancing with friends. Mary Jean was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Sumner, WA where she was an active participant in the women's community and the Altar Society.
Mary Jean is preceded in death by her parents, sister Audrey Haselhurst Mirau and her brother William Haselhurst. She is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, and great great nieces/nephews, and stepchildren Jeffrey Soggie, Jill Soggie, and their families.
Mary Jean will be laid to rest next to her husband Ed at Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup at a future date.
