It's been a year now Max since you graduated. I have enjoyed keeping in touch with your son, Harold. I remember a bright sunny day when Max drove out to Fife in his classic restored automobile and showed it off to us over at the Poodle Dog restaurant where a bunch of we retired bankers met for lunch. It was so nice to visit with Max at his last birthday party. You are greatly missed Max and I hope that you are putting in a good word for the rest of us Max.

Uncle Max was such a sweetheart - caring so much for others and staying in touch up until his very last days. I will miss our phone calls but am blessed that cousins Kathy, Karen and Harold will help carry on our Appelgate family legacy.
Love you and miss you, Uncle Max. So happy you're back with your brothers once again. xoxo Debbie

I had the honor to have worked with Max for over 30 years at the bank and for many more years attending many car shows and swap meets. Max also attended many of the unofficial retired bank lunches that a bunch of we men arranged over the years. May the Lord bless and comfort your family and friends Max...I will see you later...Amen

I remember your dad buying all the neighborhood kids Dilly Bars from Dairy Queen one hot summer day. I remember him carrying Kathy or maybe it was Karen into the house when they were home from the hospital after having their tonsils out. Even back then I thought what a good, caring dad he must be.
