Mr. Hill was a great teacher and mentor. I always looked up to him and tried to do well not just for a good grade in the class but because I respected him.

In my automotive world, two people taught me more than anything. My Uncle Bill, and Mr Hill. Man this guy was patient when he had a classroom full of rambunctious teen boys. Patience was strong in this one... From myself blowing up the steam cleaner (I forgot to turn the water on), and my Plymouth Troubleshooting partner to remain nameless dropping an engine on his hand and requiring stitches (JP) Mr Hill was a great and patient leader and mentor....

You're missed deeply.

Mr. Hill was like a second father to me that I always admired with the highest level of respect and hope to live my life like he lived his. I will never forget the summers at Hot August Nights and all the support throughout my lifetime. He is a legend and is missed deeply.

Mr. Hill was a huge influence in my life. There's no doubt he set my path in life for my career. His class was the only class I never skipped school. Ha! He took us to the Ford/AAA state finals And then to Washington DC after we won.
I enjoyed visiting him at local car shows as an adult and will miss him.
Thank you Mr. Hill for everything you did and the influences you had on us kids.

Sad to hear of his passing. I wasn't his best student by a longshot but Dale was my favorite and most informative teacher at Richland High. He was patient, tolerant, tough, and funny at times. The knowledge he was able to pass on to me has been carried with me throughout my life and has come in quite handy at times. He always drove the coolest cars to school! My heart and prayers go out to his family and all that were close to him.

He will be missed. Enjoyed the years, I was on the teaching staff (1971-1978) with Dale as we did our best to help the students at Ki-Be HS, Benton City, learn and to prepare to enter the workforce after graduation. I also remember the fun of learning basic auto mechanics one year at an evening class Dale taught at Richland HS. May Evelyn, Shelby and the rest of Dale's loved ones experience God's comfort in the days, weeks, months and years ahead.

I had a lot of great teachers at RHS, but learned more in Dale's lab than in any other class. And it was Automotive Technology, not merely "auto shop." Dale taught a practical knowledge in how to troubleshoot and fix things, which skill has been a huge benefit in my life--I still do nearly all of my own mechanics on my cars. Dale was firm, yet compassionate and patient. Condolences to Dale's family. I hope I am able to attend the remembrance in June.

I see Grandpa in your face as well as Uncle Everett. Not getting to see your smile will be hard for a while but it brings great warmth to my heart when I think of it. Now you will be with Mom and the other family members. Love you.
