SAUBER, Ivan C.
59, our beloved son, father, brother, uncle and grandfather passed away November 9, 2019 while deer hunting in Patagonia. An avid outdoorsman, God granted him a final wish that when he passed, he would be hunting or fishing. Our Lord blessed Ivan with a beautiful daughter, Megan and grandson, Carter, both the shining stars of his life. Ivan is survived by his mother, Betty; siblings, Debbie, Cheryl, Herb, Brenda and Scott along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert and sister, Bonnie. Ivan was medically retired from General Electric and overcame many hurdles in life but was unable to beat a terminal respiratory disease. He spent his last several years focused on family, faith, and abilities rather than his physical limits and lived every day to its fullest. Ivan unselfishly donated his body to science in the hope of finding a cure for Alpha One. He will be forever missed and loved. Services will be held Thursday, December 12, 2019 at l0:00 a.m. at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, 3201 E. Presidio Rd.

I can't believe my uncle Ivan is no longer with us, there's so many things that I will truly miss with his passing, most of all being his laugh which was one of a lot of and always made me smile. There's so many things he taught me about life and I'm thankful to have so many wonderful memories with him from our trips hunting and fishing at Patagonia lake where I ALWAYS had so much fun with him. Uncle Ivan was truly one of a kind and I miss him so very much as I'm sure everyone who knew him does.

My baby brother was a beautiful soul. My comfort comes from knowing that he is watching over us left here on earth and rejoicing with family and friends that have gone on before us. What a reunion that must be!! He will forever be Loved and Missed. So Blessed to have gotten so close to my brother over the past few years. We saw the worse in each other and better yet we grew to know the best of each other. I will forever love you baby brother!! (((HEAVENLY HUGS)))

I learned a lot from Ivan in the years I was his helper at IMC. No matter how bad I messed up on something he always found a way to turn it into a learning experience. He was a good man and will be sorely missed by a great many people. My condolences to his family and friends.
