Bettie was the mother of my close friend Kim. I got to know Bettie and Jessie when they came to Cary to visit Kim and family. They would come over and we enjoyed the visits and had many laughs. Bettie was a warm, sweet, caring woman. She had accomplished much in her life but remained humble. She had health problems, was losing her sight, but never complained. I feel fortunate that I knew her and I will miss her. I am so sorry for her families loss.

So sorry to hear that Bettie has passed. We used to have such great times together at BBTP with Jesse and Bettie. Many many laughs. A lot of fun dinners out with them and with Carolyn and Dale and Rich and Sue. The restaurants were always glad to see us come and happier still to see us leave. Bettie had such a great spirit and positive slant on life. She won't be forgotten in this house.

Dear old friend of 50+ years. Her life wasn't easy and she had many great trials. However, She always put one foot in front of the other no matter how heavy it felt. Her courage was a inspiration.

Bettie was a dear friend. I wondered if something wasn't right when I left a birthday message for her and she didn't return my call. Lots of fond memories of bingo, slots and shopping at the thrift stores. Will miss her. Reta and Don Raegele

Playing Bingo. She couldn't see the Bingo board so I had to say the #'s out loud to her. Betty blotted her own card and won every time. I never one a thing. But we sure did have fun!

Dale and I were so saddened to hear of your mothers passing. We will miss her very much. I loved Bettie. She was a good friend to me and Dale. She and Jessie were the first friends we made when we came into the park. We were staying in a trailer across the street from them during the month of January in 1995. In the years that followed Dale and Jessie and Pete Broadwater became fishing buddies and called themselves the 3Muskiteers. So Bettie and I and Juanita (Pete's wife) said well then we are the 3 Muskiteerets. We have lots of good memories together with them including the fish fries that followed a few fishing trips to the time we evacuated the park because of Huricane Wilma. Seven of us descended on Kissimmee and stayed in a hotel there. When we returned to the park we had no electricity so we pooled our resources and cooked what was thawing in our freezers. This resulted in at least two joint cookouts.
I loved going to garage sales with them and to thrift shops with Bettie. We had such fun. Bettie is the person who recognized Dale was diabetic. She tested him and his reading was in the hi 300's. So we are grateful she spotted it for us. We will miss her. But Bettie is with Jessie again and they are well and happy. And someday we will be together again. God Bless You all.
