Dear Carol and Laurie's other close family and friends,

I am so sorry to hear of Laurie's passing. She was one of my peers who I have known since we were 5. I can still remember the time that three of us decided to have a grown up lunch at a hotel restaurant in Troy. We were pre-teens at most, and Laurie somehow spilled a glass of milk on the rug right toward the end of lunch.

When I saw her in November, she was incredibly realistic about and accepting of how serious her medical problems were. I am so glad that she called me when she was in town and that I made sure that I got to see her the following day.

Rest in peace, Laurie. You had a very full life and people who loved you; and that is a very blessed life.

Carol and family,

My deepest condolences on losing Laurie. She had a tremendous spirit and sense of humor! She supported me as a legislator and Mayor and was a very faithful DFLer.

We enjoyed many meetings with Laurie and her sharp wit and passion for issues. She will be deeply missed.

Sending peace and love to you all,

--Nora Slawik

Dear Carol and David, and Family,

I am so sorry to hear about Laurie's passing. She was a beautiful wonderful gracious woman. And she was a very dedicated DFL'er. I loved talking politics with her, and loved taking "Social Work stuff", comparing notes, because i was a Dakota County Social Worker. I loved dinners with Laurie, Carol, and our late friend, Sandy Sittko. And Laurie was almost always knitting at various DFL meetings, conventions, and Social Work conferences. You were a gem, Laurie, and I believe your light still shines. To Carol, Please take care. Love to you.

Sincerely,
Jean Anderson
