Mr. Cunningham was in charge of the Chapel Hill ISD maintenance department when I first began there as Financial Director in 1997. He managed to keep the buildings maintained with a small dedicated crew on a budget of "peanuts" as we worked the district back into financial solvency. He always had a positive outlook, always worked hard, and always tackled the maintenance challenges with a can-do attitude. Because he had earlier served on the School Board, he often dropped by my office to see how things were going and shared words of encouragement. He raised a fine son, Jimmy, who I enjoyed working with also. I know Mr. Cunningham will be missed by family and friends. My prayers for you all in your loss. Sharon

Jimmie was a very special man. He always made you feel appreciated. He loved the children of CHISD and worked to make all the schools better. Jimmie made a difference.
Miss you friend.

I first met Jimmie in 1999 at a reunion in Tulsa, OK. We had both served with the 3d Armored Division, but at different posts and about 2 years apart. we became friends immediately, and in 2001 my wife Jeanne and I attended the first Association of Third Armored Division Veterans official reunion in Carlisle, PA. He, Milered, Jeanne and I were friends from then on. His passing will leave a hole in our hearts along side of the one created by Mildred's passing. they are now together. We will remember the both of them with fondness. So glad they were a part of our lives. god Bless the family.

Jimmy was my second cousin, who I met in 2017 after reconnecting with our Texas relatives after several years. He was a very kind man, and we will all miss him greatly. Our condolences to his family.
