Michael Douglas Stewart
Michael Douglas Stewart came into the world on April 28, 1977. He is the third child and first son of Ollie and Gwendolyn Stewart. He was greeted by his two older sisters, Ruby and Theresa Stewart. Two years later, he gained another sibling, his baby brother Ollie "OJ" Stewart.
Growing up in Oxnard, Ca, Michael was a very adventurous young boy who loved life. Michael was the type of kid who always had rocks in his front pockets and a slingshot in his back pocket. He was never one to just stay at home if he could be out and about roaming the neighborhood. He had a love for horses and would sometimes dress up like a little cowboy when visiting his grandmother as her neighbor had horses for him to ride.
Michael also loved people. He made lots of friends growing up and he loved his family. Michael was a big guy and had the heart to match. As a teenager, he took on the role of older brother to his younger cousins. When he became an uncle for the first time, he would babysit every chance he could.
As a young man, Michael met a woman who gave him the greatest gift of all: fatherhood. Sandra Pacheco came into his life with children of her own, including a little baby girl named Destiny, and Michael fell in love. Michael became a father-figure to Destiny and her older siblings. Two years later, Sandra blessed him with a baby girl of his own: Naomi. His little girl was his heart and the two were thick as thieves as she got older.
Michael left this world too early. He was called home on December 29, 2020. In addition to his parents, siblings, and daughters, Michael is remembered fondly as Big Mike by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends across the West Coast. He is preceded in death by his mother's parents Roosevelt and Minnie Warren, his mother's brother Elbert Warren, and his father's parents Lucious and Ruth Stewart as well as his father's sisters, Jeannette Johnson and Stephanie Stewart, as well as a few cousins.
