Bob was a great man with integrity. He will be missed by all. He was close to his grandson Andrew Flavin, not mentioned above. Rest in peace Bob, you never ceased to amaze with your zest for life and words of wisdom. My heart goes out to Barb, Andrew and the family.

We knew Bob and Barb when they lived at Riverview in Ventura. We met while walking our mini schnauzer, Pepper, who was Jake's "girl friend" We will always remember his kindness to us when Pepper became ill and died. He even came with Jake to say goodbye to her. At Christmastime, they would get a live tree, then plant it at the park where we walked our dogs, beautifying the neighborhood. Bob would haul buckets of water to the park to water his newest addition until it was rooted enough to grow on it's own. The next Christmas, the neighborhood would decorate the newest tree for all to enjoy. The trees are still there, now too big to decorate anymore. The Swanson's would have an annual neighorhood BBQ for the friends they made while walking their dogs. Bob and Barb weathered some tragic losses while we knew them, but never lost their zest for life, which was an inspiration to us.Even though we lost touch with them after they moved to The Townhouse, we think of them fondly whenever we pass their trees in the park. We met Wendy and Taylor when they would walk Jake. We send our condolences. Bob was a wonderful guy and we feel honored to have known him.

Hello,my name is Mary Lorenzana Noel. I now live in Apple Valley, Ca. I first met Swanee in 1947/48 when he became a summer counselor at Sheridan Way School. He was a driving force in our familys lives. He loved our mothers cooking of enchiladas, tacos and homemade tortillas. He came to our family barbecues and we not only loved him for the person he was, but we also appreciated him. God Bless his memory. The Lorenzana Family, out of 9 of us there are 7 still here. John , Frankie, Bobby, Tommy, Frances, Mary, Carol, Victoria and Joseph. God bless your family.
