Prayers for all the Lucas family for the loss of Melvin. I was very blessed to have the opportunity to visit with him a few weeks back and share fun memories.
Melvin was so caring and gentle: below are a few special memories ❤
Sunday fried chicken dinners- trips to antique stores- Melvin tinkering on my Triumph Spitfire- Getting to work with Melvin chopping weeds in the cotton on the back 40
Melvin giving me cow salve to clear up my eye infection from working in the hay- some special gifts I cherish, an old antique doll that you could turn upside down and another doll would be underneath, a child's antique ice cream table
That is still used today, most of all Melvin was genuine and listened to what I had to say. We would talk about stocks, JCPenney, he shared old stories of when his family acquired the ranch and how they actually wanted the property that my great grandfather Marvin Rogers had on rd 44. But didn't happen. Miss you Melvin, love all you and Marybeth did for me and how welcome the Oklahoma family has always made me feel like one of theirs. Long after my divorce I still received letters from Grandma Hazel. This is what real family is. Sara and Mikey were so blessed to have
Their pee paw in their life and will have special memories to hold close in their heart. Love always, Diana
