George and I became friends through a love of basketball because of it's competition, rivalry, team work, and lasting friendships. We both also saw it as a means to stay in shape and get that natural adrenalin rush . We met at one of the open gym nights in Tulare or Visalia. Later he would join us when I opened the gym in Tulare early Sunday mornings before church to play and practice. George also joined us on several teams in Tulare & Visalia on mens league teams. He had to quit after he broke a bone in his leg during one of our Sunday competitions diving for a ball. That shows how competitive he was.
George at the same time had a gentle soul. We both shared the love of the Lord. I know he is with the Lord forever. Gary Barnes

I am very happy that I was blessed to have an enjoyable visit with Dad the day before he went home. His body and mind were very tired and ready to meet his Lord, so he could know what it means to worship again His Savior, face to face.
