Joyce Mayo
Joyce Ann Mayo left this world on January 21, 2021 to be with our Lord and sing with the angels in His choir.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon Rodriguez, son Dave Mayo (Pam); grandchildren Dana Waltman (Ryan), Derek Rodriguez (Tara), Jason Mayo, Jeremy Mayo (Chrisara), Ryan Mayo; and great grandchildren Kylie Packer, Sharyn Waltman, Billy Waltman, Jaxon Rodriguez, Hudson Rodriguez, Skyler Mayo, Logan Mayo.
Joyce came to Apple Valley in 1964 and worked in banking before becoming an escrow officer, eventually managing Cimarron Trustee Services where she retired. She also taught escrow classes at Victor Valley College.
Her first love in life was her family and she spent much time traveling the country to attend their events. In her younger years she was an active member of the Silverwood Lake mounted patrol, riding her horse into areas difficult to reach by vehicles to help ensure the safety of campers and the forest.
A resident of Sun City, Joyce enjoyed singing with Melodix and participating in their shows. She loved to crochet and made more blankets than can be counted, giving them to family, friends, and several non-profits in town for their clients and babies. She was a member of New Hope Community Church and found great joy in helping others.
