Beth was my friend and neighbor. We saw each other every day until the early 1990s; then, only occasionally. Beth and Don sat on the steps after work and weekends to watch the children play ball, skate, slide, and bike between our yards. Beth encouraged me in decorating cakes. Her style was smooth and perfect. Mine was usually overdone in colors, frosting, and décor. It didnt matter that we were different. We were friends.

Beth was a frequent volunteer in our community. She sat with me and other moms while we watched our children learn to dance, swim, tumble, and compete. She took my daughter to church. She encouraged John to knock at our door to visit our son. She listened to Alex and a friend learning new words in her driveway. Those days are missed but marked by having new friends around us as the years go by.

Beth was more involved in her real estate career after Don passed away. Elizabeth was going to college, John in high school, and Alex found new friends. I saw her now and then. Her name appeared on real estate ads in our community. She knew our Great Falls/Reston area very well and thrived at her profession.

After she sold our home, we moved away. Still, I remember her smile and dancing with her at a wedding. Im sad she is gone. Thank goodness fond memories live on.

I'm sending love and sympathy across the miles,

Beth was a class act in every way, so smart, so kind, with integrity and loyalty and compassion. The world is less without her. Her beautiful children will continue her legacy. Rest in peace dear friend.
