Professor Stekler was a wonderful professor and true mentor to me and my classmates! I will always remember him for the way he cared about his students. He will be missed!

Grief can be so very hard, but our special memories can help us to cope. Remember them today and always. 1 Corinthians 15:26.

Herman was a dear colleague and kind mentor when I was faculty member in the Department of Economics at GWU in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He was generous with his time and contributed to scores of research projects with students. His many contributions to forecasting science are only exceeded by his contributions to developing succeeding generations of economists. I will miss him greatly.

I will always remember Herman, who was a fellow economist and colleague at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University.
We co-taught courses on the economic problems of American industry and co-wrote articles with some of the best students. He was always a free spirit, curious and inquisitive - a great teacher and a great colleague. May he rest in peace. Sincere condolences to Herman's family.
