It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Wilkinson (Wilky) is announcing his passing on Monday, September 14, 2020 at the age of 66 years old. He was a wonderful man and an exceptional musician...his songs will be cherished forever. Rob will be lovingly remembered by his partner Lynne who was with him every minute, and by his wonderful children Tania (Craig) and Jason (Melanie). He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren; Taylor, Colton, Cloee, Cali, Daisy and Pierce (007). His wonderful mother Evelyn Wilkinson loved him deeply as did his late father Robert. Also, his amazing sisters Cathy (Gord), Diana, Louise (Lou) and their daughter Melaina will miss him so much and his late sister Janet. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to WELLAND FUNERAL HOME. Wilky's family will have a private service for him at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart Fund and the Kidney Foundation of Canada in honour of Wilky.

Having the privilege of spending six wonderful years with Rob is something I will cherish always. We did everything together and I was there for every performance, every song recorded. He gave me his library of songs to keep forever. I miss him so much we loved each other deeply. He made me promise two things as we talked..
Never sell the house, he wanted me to always live in it.
Also to keep his music alive and his wonderful sister Cathy is going to help me with that request. I pray for strength to handle everything that needs to be done.

Wilky was a great and loving friend and a brilliant musician and songwriter. He had a God given gift for music and was especially proud of a song which he wrote and which Gordon Lightfoot commented on... You've left us way too soon, Wilky! But I know that you're up the with all the musical greats, and jamming big time! Rest in Peace, dear friend ❤❤

Wilky played in a band with my dad, Victor. I use to love listening to them play together. He was such a kind genuine human being who always had good positive energy. When I got married he made a picture album for us on a DVD, and we didn’t even know about it. He just did it out of the kindness of his heart. RIP Wilky.

Rob and I had a common love for music, my daughter and Rob shared the love of guitar playing and Rob made us many cds of his recordings. He was such a kind man with a wicked sense of humor. I am sad and will miss him.

We miss you dearly, Dad. You will always and forever be in our hearts and memories. ❤

“You make the music we will forever sing”.

You were loved by many friends and family and even those from a distance. Our hearts ache for you.

I prayed to God for you to show me a sign. To sing to me. I prayed for God to take your hand and lead the way. Then two songs came on:

Cody Johnson: “I ain’t going nowhere baby” and Dallas Smith: “Sky stays this blue”

I felt you singing to me/speaking to me. And seeing the second song on video of a Dad and a little girl/grown and the words of both songs - I knew it was you and felt it was you.

Always loved. Forever missed. Always in our hearts. We love you. Xoxoxo

In loving memory, your Daughter, Tania, your son in law Craig (sharing your love of ketchup), your Grandchildren Colton and Taylor.

I will always be Daddy’s Little Girl.

Daughters may outgrow your lap, but never outgrow your heart.

Daughters hold our hand for a little while but hold our hearts forever.
