I had the chance meeting of Dick in Las Vegas. I can not put into words the honor and pleasure it was to hear his story first hand. I consider him a friend and a brother Sailor. His Honor, Courage, and Commitment provided the foundation of Our Navy and for that I am eternally grateful. The Fairest Winds and Following Seas, to a dear friend and most of all a Brother Sailor. We have the watch.

I had the extreme pleasure of working with Richard as a Whittier Police Volunteer. Dick was a very nice man with a sweet smile. I truly enjoyed our conversations and especially reading his commentaries in the opinion section of the Whittier paper. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, my fellow volunteer!

Dick was an extrodinary person, patriot, and friend. We are so sad to hear of his passing but know he is in a better place.

We were neighbors of Mr. Donahue for 30 years. When our son was a young boy in elementary school Mr. Donahue brought out his Purple Heart showed it to our son and told him the story behind it. The lasting impression of that was priceless. Not only seeing one in person but also knowing the person it belonged to.
May you Rest In Peace Mr. Donahue.
