Carstensen, George C.
George C. Carstensen, 59, formerly of Nekoosa, WI, passed away of cancer Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Born June 7, 1958, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, to the late George and Mary (Grover) Carstensen, George was a 1976 graduate of Nekoosa High School.
Places of employment included Preway, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Custom RV Services, Deforest, WI, and most recently the Central City Assembly Church in Tucson, AZ.
George was a very gifted man with endless talents. He could whip up a gourmet dinner, play piano by ear, and sketch marvelous drawings. He studied electricity at Blackhawk Technical Institute and could navigate electrical and mechanical projects with ease. He was a master carpenter who designed and built numerous mobile response units for the Wisconsin State Patrol, among many other creative and custom projects.
George is survived by one son, Pastor George D. Carstensen of Schenectady, NY, sisters Lyn (Jim) Vallin of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Rosie Pueschner of Marshfield, WI, Tracie (Mike) Zificsak of Oshkosh, WI, Brothers Jeff (Tami) Carstensen of Nekoosa, WI, Todd (Tracy) Carstensen of Toronto, Canada, and many nieces and nephews. Also remarkable lifelong friend Mark Erikson and very special friends Scott Skalitzky and Lori Anderson.
There will be a memorial service at the Central City Assembly Church in Tucson, AZ where he will be laid to rest.
The family would like to thank Pastor Kai Eilert and his church members for the wonderful care and friendship extended to George during his Tucson years.

I remember when he was my neighbor and I took my sons trick-or-treating to his home. George was great with the boys!
