Wisconsin Dells - Mary A. Behr, age 64, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at SSM Health Hospice House Baraboo of Glioblastoma.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. John Swing will officiate, burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Church on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of services.

Formally Mary Keough, she grew up in Wisconsin Rapids and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1976. Mary made a difference working at Our House in Wisconsin Dells the last eighteen years with dementia patients. She treated them with compassion and dignity.

Mary had a love for animals. She walked 3 miles daily to feed the feral cats in her area and took them to the vet when needed. Mary had a zest for life and was extremely funny.

Survivors include her husband Robert Behr, her 2 cats Rusty and Allie of Wisconsin Dells, WI. Step-daughter Alissa (Paul) Krause and their two children, and step-son Jason (Jackie) Behr and their three children. Sisters Karen (John) Nash of Madison, WI, Sue (John) Weigel of Nekoosa, WI, Cindy Van Meter of Nekoosa, WI, Barb (Chris) Ruehl of Wisconsin Rapids, Candace (Darren) Kester of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, brother Pete (Sandy) Keough of Wisconsin Rapids, WI. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents W. Paul and Dorothy Keough and brother Lamont Keough.

The pain of your loss will be very deep. Our memories of you we will savor and keep. You showed much kindness and compassion to others as well as your sisters and brothers. Your colorful stories we will miss. As we lay you to rest with our last touch and kiss! Poem by sister Karen Nash.

Mary was so wonderful with my father she was very caring and compassionate to his needs and all residents. She always had such a way of putting a smile on your face and melting our hearts with such kindness with making sure my father was taken care of.
