So sad. Phil was such welcome comic relief
during my first years teaching at Port. A funny, smart gentleman who will be fondly remembered by so many.

Love to family.

Mr. Haines was truly a wonderful teacher and even better person. I know that I am only one of many students blessed to have had him, and I hope it gives you comfort to know that his love of travel, theater, and language lives on in many because of his influence. My prayers go out to your family for your loss.

It was a sad day for me when I read of Mr. Haines' passing. He was a teacher who loved teaching. I am so glad to have known him and had the opportunity to travel to France with him and our class. Many good memories that make me smile each time I think of them. I am sorry for the loss of your husband and father. My prayers are with you at this time.
