Wayne E. Wolden
Lonsdale - Wayne E. Wolden, 99, of Lonsdale, MN passed away Thursday, February 18, peacefully at home.
He was born October 10, 1921 in Baldwin, WI to John and Clara (Danielson) Wolden.
He married Beverly Petersen September 25, 1948 at First English Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
Wayne served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a pipefitter at Consolidated Papers his entire working career. After retirement, he managed CERA Park for many years.
One important achievement to him was the opportunity he received to be part of the Never Forgotten Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2017. He was very proud to be the oldest veteran on the flight, at 95 years of age.
Wayne was known for his ability to build or fix just about anything from houses to cars.
His outlook on life continued to be the ability to find good in everything. His standard response to adversity was "It could always be worse".
Wayne is survived by son Larry (Barbara Bohringer) Wolden, Wis. Rapids, WI; daughter Linda (Len) Jensen, Lonsdale, MN; and son Lyle (Brenda) Wolden, Wis. Rapids, WI.
He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Brian (Kathy) Wolden, Nekoosa, WI; Amy (Shane) Scheel, Rudolph, WI; Laura (Greg) Cloose, Cottage Grove, MN; Keith (Brie) Jensen, Hudson, WI; Lisa (Brian) Valek, Lonsdale, MN; Tabitha Fawley, Steven's Point, WI; Trina (Marc) AuClair, New Richmond, WI; Tanya Jo (Ben) Cronce, Wis. Rapids, WI; Trenton (Tameka) Wolden, Wis. Rapids, WI. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; wife Beverly; brothers Gene Wolden and Don Wolden; sister-in-law Marilyn Wolden, and daughter-in-law Susie Wolden.
A memorial service for family will be held at a later date. Any memorials received will be gifted to Trondhjem Lutheran Church.
